Weekly Howl | 1.19
January 17, 2021
Hello San Altos Families,
These past two weeks have been extremely stressful for everyone at San Altos and within the Lemon Grove School District. This pandemic has continued to take unexpected turns and is still challenging our process of schooling and what we consider normal.
We want to thank you for your understanding, your patience and most importantly commitment to the well-being of our San Altos community.
Even as we continue to navigate everything that is happening we are so excited about the work that our staff has continued to engage in. We are thinking deeply about our teaching and how to best meet the needs of every learner as well as how to provide engaging and rigorous instruction. We are continuing to focus on Culturally Responsive Teaching and making sure that our students can recognize themselves in our school and the classroom and can be proud of who they are. We are engaged in math work that is pushing us to think about how students learn and engage in math and making it more accessible.
We are also continuing to think about ways to make decisions that are grounded in the needs of our students and each individual family. Our new Parent Volunteer Coordinator, Katia Williamson, has just started and you may be hearing from her as she starts reaching out to families. Please feel free to talk to her about how things are going, what you and your family may need and anything you would like to see at San Altos as we continue forward.
Thank you again for everything you do.
Hang in there and please reach out. Our community can only get better the more we collaborate.
Mr. Goldberg

COVID-19 Testing at San Altos
Our COVID-19 testing day is Thursday. Please make sure you fill out the registration form online by Wednesday night, so that your student can be tested on Thursday. You will only need to fill out the registration form one time and it will be good for the remainder of the year.
Please note the following:
Please register your child by at least the day before testing occurs at your child's school site.
You may also still continue to use the hard copy permission forms previously sent out; however, these forms do not provide you with access to test results. You will only receive a notification if your child's test is positive.
