Message from Principal Wagner
February 27, 2022
Good evening BMES Families,
This week, we don't have many new updates as this is a typical week of teaching and learning. On Tuesday, we will be completing our spring individual pictures and class photos. If you are interested in ordering any prints, please see the link included prior to picture day. Lifetouch picture ID for class photos: EVT6X2RRN at Lifetouch Online Ordering Link.
In addition, YCSD announced the revision to the school calendar for March 11. This Friday is now a full student holiday due to the teacher workday.
Lastly, Sunday March 13 is daylight savings time. Don't forget to spring your clocks forward on Sunday at 2am.
Have a wonderful evening,
Interested in Tabb Middle School Spirit Wear
TMS has shared their spirit wear order form with us. They have 3 different designs of t-shirts and hoodies, as well as a baseball cap and car magnet.
BMES families can order online until March 11 and TMS will deliver orders directly to Bethel Manor a couple of weeks after that, hopefully by spring break.
As part of the division's efforts to address unfinished learning in accordance with the ARP Act ESSER III funds, the York County School Division has partnered with FEV Tutor to provide students in grades 3-12 with free, 1:1 online tutoring. In addition to supporting coursework and homework in core subjects such as math, English/Language Arts, science and social studies, FEV Tutor offers support for Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.
Along with the on-demand support, FEV Tutor also offers weekly sessions between 7 and 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and on weekends so families can select the times that work best for their schedule. To get started with e-tutoring, students should log in to Clever and locate the FEV Tutor app icon to get started. They can then schedule sessions and access live help at any time of the day.
While all support is live and personalized to each student's classes and needs, the program does not involve device cameras or microphones - instead all interactions involve a whiteboard and chat feature. Students will be able to share their screens and upload documents to review with tutors, and tutors only have access to student work provided by the individual student. Once a student is signed up for weekly sessions, FEV Tutor may periodically email families and students (aged 13 and older).
