BLUEFIELD COLLEGE, VA
BASKETBALL'S GREATEST TEAMS
Coach Blevins and his players from the 1984-89 teams were recently honored by the Bluefield College Administration. The President showed the Hall of Fame Coach and several of his HOF players all the new facilities on campus. After some reunion time at the President’s home and a visit to the basketball arena, they were guests of the football team for a pregame meal. They finished off the day by making the coin toss to start the game and were special guests in the President’s Box.

Santa’s Helpers is a project undertaken by the BHS Historical Society and our school counselors. We reach out to community members that are interested in purchasing gifts for anonymous students, whom we refer to as our “Christmas Angels.” These are students that, without your help, may not receive gifts for Christmas. The students are all part of the BHS cluster of schools and range in age from infancy to 18 years old. We provide information about the gender, age, sizes, and interests of the students, and ask you to purchase gifts that they may like. The BHS Historical Society then helps collect your gifts, wrap them if needed, and distribute them to the students in need. All gifts must be turned in no later than Friday, December 6. Scheduled IRS DRT Outage
The IRS Data Retrieval Tool will be down on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET for system upgrades. Users will be able to access fafsa.gov and the myStudentAid mobile app during the outage, according to FSA, but any tax information required will have to be entered manually. Sign Up to Round Up!
The Round Up Program was started by The Schools Foundation and Huntsville Utilities to support local public school systems. The Schools Foundation is a funding partner of Madison County Schools. The more residential and commercial locations that round up, the more funding we can receive. Estimates show that if just half of the residential Huntsville Utilities users rounded up, it would generate approximately $500,000 to support our schools! By rounding up your utility bill to the nearest dollar each month, you help invest in the future of our students!
You can easily sign up to round up online:
http://www.hsvutil.org/myhsvu…/checkbill/roundup/signup.html
It might be a penny, it might be 25 cents, it might be 99 cents, but it will be no more than $11.88 a year. It takes less than 1 minute to fill out.
Thank you for supporting one of our community partners! Go Bucks!
