Meet Ben McShane-Jewel!
"Growing up in Lincoln, I've had a lifelong love for Nebraska and have always wanted to make an impact close to home. After graduating from UNL, I completed a Master's degree at Colorado State University before spending four years in Arizona and Detroit working on building local food systems. In 2013, shortly after my daughter was born, my wife and I returned to Lincoln to raise our family in our hometown. For the last five years, I worked hard to increase local food production opportunities for Lincoln residents, overseeing projects that provided resources and support to more than a thousand participants. I am excited to bring my experiences and skills to the Washington County Extension program and look forward to working with the staff and residents in the area."
