Visits to the Library
“The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.”
-Albert Einstein
Our library has gotten off to a great start. In fact, our students have checked out 850 books since the start of the school year. Last week we had 56 classroom visits with 1,766 students. There were also an additional 540 students who visited on their own either before school or during lunch. That is a four day total of 2,306 student visits!
Library Information
The library is available from 7:00 AM until 2:30 PM. All students must sign in and out when entering and leaving the library. If they are visiting from a class they must bring a signed pass from their teacher. Students may also visit before school and during lunch without a pass.
Most items can be borrowed for three weeks at a time. We do not charge fines for overdue items; however, students will be charged for lost or damaged items.
We are always expanding our library and have recently ordered and are awaiting delivery on 317 new titles. Let us know if there are any books that you would like us to add to our next order. In the meantime, if you can't find the book that you are looking for we can request it from another library through an interlibrary loan.
There are also 33 desktop computers available for student use. Additionally, there are 34 Chromebooks available for teachers to reserve for their class to use. We do ask that all technology is used for educational purposes only.
The Bensalem High School library is a resource center for both students and teachers. Teachers are encouraged to sign up to bring their classes to the library for research. Our staff, technology, and print and digital resources are available to help support the curriculum and the common core standards. Please remember that we are willing to help with any project or assignment. If we don't know the answer, we will find someone who does!

"Test scores tend to be significantly higher for schools that have full-time certified school librarians as well as for those that have such a librarian with support staff."
