Make sure to wash hands before dealing with food , When washing make sure to wash for 20 seconds with water and use a paper towel to dry.

Working with food
If you are feeling ill it is important to not work with food due to spreading bacteria
Don't leave food out !
leaving food out for a long period of time is definitely a bad idea! leaving food out for a long period of time can cause bacteria to grow. Especially with foods like meats , dairy , and cold foods.
Avoid the danger zone !
Make sure to avoid the danger zone and keep cold foods cool and hot foods hot (41 - 135 degrees F)
The main four!
make sure to chill , clean , cook , and separate all foods
Clean
your hands , tools , and food preparation area should all be clean before you cook.
Seperate
steer clear of cross-contamination by keeping raw meat , poultry , seafood and eggs separate from all other foods
Cook
cook to proper temperature and serve hot. Don't stay in the danger zone! Cook all foods completely and make sure it matches the proper temperature!
Chill
Chill quickly and don't be in the danger zone! Chill leftovers quickly or between 1 - 2 hours. Defrost food in the refrigerator or under cold running water.
Fight the bacteria
keep foods safe from fighting the bacteria and following the main four points
Hands
remember to keep hands clean before and after dealing with foods
Dishes
make sure to hand wash your dishes with hot soapy water when you are done with the foods , then towel dry for the next class to use
