Student Wellness Survey May 17th
Dear Meadowdale Families,
We appreciate and are thankful for all of the input we received from the three Wellness Surveys which were administered to students earlier this school year. The information gathered was valuable. As you may recall, this survey asked students about various components of their social and emotional well-being. Each time, more than half of our students took time to take the survey and provided us with important feedback. From the results, we found that there are two significant areas continuing to impact our students; students are overwhelmed by the workload in remote learning, students miss the connection with the adults at school. Based on these results we received, we have actively tried to find ways to connect students to each other and staff and continually discuss ways as a staff to reduce the workload while still moving students forward with the curriculum in each of their classes.
We will be conducting the final administration of the survey on May 17th during Advisory. With the results of this final survey of the year, we will be able to determine how students are doing now that they are experiencing the hybrid schedule. Students again will receive instructions on how to complete the survey during Advisory and through their student district email.
We are requesting that all of our students participate in this survey, as their feedback will again provide invaluable insights into changes in their well-being and how we can continue to make improvements and adapt our support to their needs. However, the survey is optional. Responses to these surveys are confidential. The district has partnered with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.
We know this continues to be very difficult for our students and families. If you have concerns about your child’s social or emotional well-being, please reach out to their counselor. We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses.
Sincerely,
Dave Shockley

AP Test Digital Kiosk App
The Technology Department is deploying the secure digital kiosk app for AP tests to all high school Chromebooks. This is a kiosk app which means it is available before students login to their Chrome devices. It cannot be installed only on specific student Chromebooks; it must be available on all the high school Chromebooks so that any student who needs it can launch it before logging in.
Only high school students instructed by their AP teacher to take the exam will need to use the app. Before the scheduled exam dates, AP teachers should plan to have students test the kiosk app in any way indicated to them by the College Board or their AP coordinator, such as having students go through the Digital Practice in order to familiarize themselves with the testing app.
Additionally, prior to the test, please share this quick one-pager with any students who are testing, and have them follow the reminders in order to make sure their Chromebooks work as efficiently as possible during the test.
If you have a student who needs to use the app but does not see it on their Chromebook, please submit a help desk ticket with the Chromebook barcode or have the student contact the student tech support team at 425-431-1211 or techsupport@edmonds15.org so one of our techs can resolve the issue as soon as possible.
