The lead up to any school year is a busy one and this year not only does that still ring true, but we are busier than ever building out strong instructional and resource supports for Bear students and families. After we get the school year underway, if you would be so kind to send a note of thanks to our Bear staff who are making all things SBMS come together, I would be one grateful principal. Many thanks also to our SBMS PTA Executive Board for the support they have offered us as we prepare for this year and always. Spring Branch Middle School is truly a special community.

Does Your Child Take Medicine and You'd Like to Drop It Off to Us?
Caution: SBMS Counselors at Work!
HUGE thanks to our SBMS Counselors for all of their hard work this summer. They are building essentially two master schedules simultaneously to accommodate families and their choices for in-person and virtual learning. Families will be able to view student schedules beginning on August 17th. Building out 1200 schedules in two different algorithms is intense and intricate work; we appreciate the grace and space families are offering our counselors that is allowing them to focus on the task in front of them. They truly are doing great work in the most interesting circumstances of our careers!
Yearbook Pick-Up
All students who pre-ordered yearbooks may pick theirs up on Monday, August 10th and Tuesday, August 11th according to the Bear Camp Schedule. If your child is a 9th Grader, you may select Friday, August 14th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. If you wish to purchase one, you may do so for $50 as long as supplies last. Please bring exact change or a check written out to Spring Branch Middle School. We are unable to add this item to MySchoolBucks at this time. Receipts will be emailed to you. Pick up and sales will occur at the Band Circle.
Chromebook Deployment Forms- New and Returning Students
Directions for Family Access can be located here. If you do not know your student's password, you may contact SBMS at 713-251-4400 to secure it. This is the same process you used for your learning model selection. You may have likely also completed the forms.
Unable to find the forms on Skyward Family Access? You may access them here and bring them with you to Bear Camp at your assigned day and time.
SBMS Bear Camp: Virtual Edition
We are so excited to meet our new students and see returning students at SBMS Bear Camp slated for August 10th-14th. Traditionally, we have a camp where students come and pick up materials, receive a tour, and hear from administrators and counselors about the start of the year. This year, our camp will only involve packet and materials pick-up, but these packets will also contain links to a staff introduction, tech directions and resources and fun opportunities to take place the week of August 17th-21st. All students and families can stay in their cars and pick up their items. Please wear your masks and if you must get out to complete paperwork, please use appropriate social distancing measures.
Using the map above, parents and students will be guided to travel to various stops around the perimeter of SBMS to pick up the following
- Station Star: A greeter will check in with you to provide directions.
- Station #1: Check-In and Confirm Receipt of Chromebook Forms (Skyward) and Insurance Payment (MySchoolBucks) or paper copies we will provide to you in person.
- Station #2: Chrome Book, Charger and Welcome Packet Pick-Up
- Station #2a: Nurse's Station for Medicine Drop-Off
- Station #3: 6th Graders and NEW to SBMS/SBISD Student Tech Check: Families will park and students will log on to their device so someone can support you if you encounter difficulty. (Parking Spaces in front of Cafeteria entrance)
- Station #4: Textbook Pick-Up
- Station #4a: PTA Spirit Gear Pick Up on Thursday, August 13th from 10-11 and 2-3 p.m.
- Station #5: Yearbook Pick Up/Sales and Library Book Drop Off
IF you have a student in 7th and 8th who is returning and does not have a chromebook, you may still come on the returning 7th or 8th Grade day and stop at Station #2. A chromebook will be given to you (along with the charger).
Unable to join us for Bear Camp? You may come to SBMS on either of the following days:
- Monday, August 17th from 1-4 p.m.
- Friday, August 21st from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
