International Walk to School Day

It's that time of year again where we are putting our "Talons to the Turf" in support of International Walk to School Day! We will be providing A Walking School Bus which allows parents to drop off their child at a designated location and then they walk the rest of the way with staff and parents from OPES. International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 10th and there will be two locations for the Walking School Bus:

  • Location one is behind the Imaging Center on 6th Baxter Crossing.

  • Location two is Shady Grove Park on Market Street.

We ask that parents park and walk their child to the location to ensure that a supervising adult knows that they are there. You can drop off starting at 7:05 and the Walking School Bus will leave promptly at 7:15. We promise that it will be a great way for your child to start their day and this is a wonderful opportunity to speak with your children about safe habits when walking to and from school each day. Parents are more than welcome to walk with us too. Be sure to wear OPES Spirit Wear to school on Wednesday as well.

PTO Meeting

We'll have two meeting times this week: Tuesday, October 9 at 7:10 am and 6:30 pm in the OPES library.
