Christie McCarthy is a gifted educator who successfully challenges, and engages learners of all levels. Her mastery of differentiated learning techniques helps ensure that all students not only succeed in the classroom, but that they reach their fullest growth potential.
A current fourth grade teacher, Ms. McCarthy has more than nine years of teaching experience at Westlake Elementary School. She is known for her unparalleled patience, and for exuding an abundance of positive energy, which is felt by all who step inside her classroom. Read more

Newbury Park High School's Nico Young Named 2019-2020 Gatorade National Boys Cross Country Player of the Year
In its 35th year of honoring the nation’s most elite high school athletes, The Gatorade Company named Nico Young of Newbury Park High School the 2019-2020 Gatorade National Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year. Young won the prestigious award for his accomplishments on and off the field, joining an impressive group of former Gatorade National Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year winners who have combined for 18 National Championships.
Young was surprised with the award in front of teammates, coaches, friends and family at his school on February 20th. Read more
