Using the Expressive Therapies Continuum in Establishing Art Therapy Treatment Goals

Woensdag 4 februari 2015 geeft Prof. Lisa D. Hinz een verdiepende workshop op de HAN in Nijmegen. Tijdens deze dag zal Prof. Hinz ons meenemen in de theorie en praktijk van het Expressive Therapies Continuum. Deze dag is speciaal voor docenten / (beeldend) therapeuten uit het vaktherapeutisch opleidings- en werkveld.

Programma

9:00 – 10:30 PowerPoint Presentation: Using the Expressive Therapies Continuum in Establishing Art Therapy Treatment Goals. Each component healing and emergent function will be associated with specific treatment goals and expected outcomes. Research evidence for media properties and the effectiveness of art therapy treatments will be presented.

10:30 – 10:45 Break

10:45 – 11:15 Demonstration of ETC Assessment: Instructor will demonstrate how the ETC Assessment can be conducted, including questions and prompts to elicit information

11:15 – 12:15 Role Play ETC Assessment: Working in pairs, participants will conduct an ETC assessment with one another and use the ETC Assessment Form to summarize results

12:15 – 1:30 Break for lunch

1:30 – 2:30 Group Discussion: Review of Results of Assessment, Formulation of Treatment Goals and Creation of Art Therapy Interventions

2:30 – 2:45 Break

2:45 – 4:00 Art Making Experience: Free art creation in response to information presentation today

4:00 – 4:30 Self-Assessment and Reflective Writing: Participants reflect on the possibility of media/process countertransference and how it might influence their choices of art materials and interventions with patients.

4:30 – 5:00 Group Sharing Questions and Answers

Even voorstellen? Lisa D. Hinz is...

a licensed clinical psychologist and a registered art therapist, Lisa earned a doctorate at Louisiana State University and a postdoctoral certificate in art therapy at the University of Louisville. For 25 years, she has been helping people with eating, weight, and lifestyle concerns achieve their goals for optimal health in body, mind, and spirit. Lisa appreciates how the creative process allows people to access deep inner wisdom and facilitate profound change without getting caught up with lots of words. She is an adjunct professor of art therapy at St. Mary-of-the-Woods College and the author of two books, Drawing from Within: Using Art to Treat Eating Disorders and Expressive Therapies Continuum: A Framework for Using Art in Therapy.
