All-Star Announcements

What's Happening at Venable October 2018

Fall is Funtastic!

Check out three of the opportunities to have fun with us at school this month:

Venable T-Shirts

If your child is in need of a new Venable t-shirt, you may send cash (exact amount) or a check for $8 to the school and we will help him/her select a shirt from our inventory. Just make sure there's a note indicating what the money is for. All students are encouraged to wear their school shirts for the Walk-A-Thon.

Malikkah Redden, New School Counselor

I am pleased to announce that Malikkah Redden has accepted the offer to be our school counselor for 2018-2019. Ms. Redden is originally from Brooklyn, NY. She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lincoln University and a Master's in Counselor Education from Virginia State University. She did her counseling internship in Henrico and has been an intensive in-home counselor for the last six years in Richmond. She is going to overlap with Mr. U. for a few mornings before she starts officially fully time on October 15. Ms. Redden will attend the PTO meeting on Nov. 12 for a meet and greet. All are welcome.

3rd/4th Grade Heights and Weights in PE

During the week of October 8-12, student heights and weights in 3rd and 4th grade will be collected as part of the state data collection period. While it is done during PE class, it is done discreetly and confidentially. Families indicated consent for this process as part of the beginning-of-year registration. If you indicated that you prefer for us not to collect this information about your child, that request will be honored.
