Our Fifth Week
This week, we had a great time writing, making the letter sound, and brainstorming words beginning with the letters I, J, and K. We read the story, Johnny Appleseed, Apples, and 10 Apples Up on Top .We learned to sequence Johnny Appleseed's life. We enjoyed learning facts about Johnny Appleseed. We learned about the parts of an apple and the life cycle of an apple. We reviewed rhyming words and syllables. We wrote sentences in our journal using the words "I", "am", "the", "little", "a" and "to". In Math, we are able to identify write, and count teen numbers. We learned a song about how teen numbers start with a 1. We also listened to a song about how teen numbers are a group of ten and extra ones. We also enjoyed making applesauce, apple pie, and apple pancakes. We had a farmer visit us. He show us how to make apple cider. We had an opportunity to pet a horse, a rabbit, and a guinea pig. We have had a wonderful time learning all about apples!!
Next week, we will learning about animal fantasy by reading stories about Miss Bindergarten. We will review letters A - K. We will review sight words. We will continue to review rhyming words and syllables. In Math, we will continue to write, count, and recognize teen numbers. In STEM, we will learn about Solar Energy.
