EVERY FOUR YEARS: THE PERPETUAL CAMPAIGN
A new major exhibit will open in the library in October documenting presidential campaigning. This exhibit is being developed by Museum Interns, Jordan Holyfield and Gavin Iler. The exhibit will highlight many campaign artifacts pulled from the school’s museum collection. The campaign collection is the largest preserved at the museum and numbers over 3,000 documents and artifacts. Artifacts dating from the 1820s to the current campaign will be included in the exhibit. The exhibit will remain open until the end of 2016.

CHS College and Career Fair
The CHS College and Career Fair will be held September 29, 2016 in the cafeteria. Students will be released by the following times:
Seniors (A-K) 8:10-8:40
Seniors (L-Z) 8:45-9:15
Juniors (A-K) 9:20-9:50
Juniors (L-Z) 9:55-10:20
In order for the juniors and seniors to use their time wisely, please encourage them to register for the College Fair Automation System. The College Fair Automation System will allow students to register for the event online at www.gotocollegefairs.com which produces a barcode they bring to the fair. At the tables, the students present their barcodes to the colleges of their choice. The colleges/universities equipped with scanners will capture their information digitally, allowing our fairs to “go greener” by using fewer prospect cards. This also helps to streamline the fairs for colleges AND students by giving them more time to speak with each other.
CHS Check Out Policy
CHS students will be allowed to check out with a parent/guardian note only. A parent/guardian phone number will need to be included on the checkout note for verification purposes.
***No phone call checkouts will be allowed because of safety concerns.
CHS is a closed campus and we strongly discourage students from checking out at lunch. This typically causes unnecessary tardies and classroom interruptions. If a student is checking out at lunch, a parent/guardian must physically come in and sign the student out and them back in from lunch.
Only a parent/guardian is allowed to drop lunch off for a student. If a parent/guardian is dropping off lunch for a student, there will be a table (outside the office) with a sharpie for the students name to be written on it. Students should know in advance that lunch is being dropped off to them.

Cabot's National Merit Semi-Finalists
Cabot High School is proud to announce 10 students have been named 2017 National Merit Semifinalists.
The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter this program by taking the Preliminary SAT and by achieving a particular score on the exam. There are around 1.5 million students that participate in this exam every year. Of those students, about 16,000, or 1% of the total graduating seniors, have scores which qualify them as Semifinalists.
For Arkansas, the selection index was a score of 213 out of a possible 228. There are 144 Semifinalists in the state this year, and 10 of those are from Cabot. Of the 44 schools that have NMSQ students, Cabot’s total places them 5th in the state.
Congratulations to these 10 Cabot High School seniors:
(Front Row, Left to Right) Landon Teer, Avery Elliott, Christen Johnson, Amin Nadirali
(Back Row) Michael Fredricks, Clay Bellou, Ben Cameron, Colin Thompson, and Brandon Weidling
Not pictured: Jared Gilliam who was recognized in March for scoring a perfect 36 on his ACT.
Aaron Randolph, Director of Gifted and Talented, Advanced Placement and Federal Programs says, “This is a great honor for these students and we are extremely proud of them. These students through their accomplishments have opened themselves up to thousands of dollars in potential scholarship awards. We will be pleased to have them recognized by the Cabot School Board of Directors at their meeting on Tuesday, September the 20th.”
