STAAR Benchmarks

This year is the first year for our students to take the state test (STAAR test). Although we won't be taking the test until early May, we need to start preparing students for the format and rigor of the test now.

On Wednesday, February 1st and Thursday, February 2nd we will be taking practice STAAR Math & Reading tests. These practice tests will be given in the same way as actual testing day and in the same format. This will help us to give students exposure to the actual experience of taking the test as well as letting us know what their strengths are and where we need to focus our efforts over the next following months.

We ask that you please do not schedule any appointments during the morning of Feb 1st and 2nd.

After the tests, we will communicate with you how your child did and what we will be focusing on.

Growth Mindset - Not Just for Kids

This article discusses how we shouldn't just be teaching our students growth mindset, but also working on our own growth mindset as teachers. It is such a good reminder!

Six GCISD campuses have been recognized with the Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) award. Glenhope was one of the schools to receive this award! The award is given to schools who work hard to improve their counseling program.
