Riders are Readers (April)
Dr. Seuss Week
We celebrated Dr. Seuss during the first week of March. Each day we had a different themed dress up day. All week long, students could take pictures in the Dr. Seuss photo booth in the library. On Thursday, the Wood NJHS students walked down and read to classes. And on Friday we had a school-wide Dr. Seuss Read Around the School.

Makerspace Update
Science, engineering, art and math were the areas of interest in this round of makerspace activities. Students could make hand shadow puppets, cardboard sculptures, magazine art or sole 4 color math problems. Click here to access the Makerspace page and then click on the different STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) areas for the resources specific to that topic.

Using a flashlight and their hands, students try to make different shadows on the white board.
Magazine Art
Students cut out special words or phrases to make a collage.
Yarn
Yarn activities continue to be a huge hit.
March Recap
Kinder students finished their research units about animals. Each class researched a different animal and then students each made a short video in the library. 2nd grade had their annual Fairy Tale Battle. Congratulations to Mrs. McClure's Class for winning this year's battle. They also made a short puppet pal video after researching biographies. 3rd graders were introduced to their 10 Battle books last week. They will battle it out in May.
