October 2022

End of the First Term

The leaves are changing and the cool air has arrived. It is almost time for fall break. It is hard to believe that our first term is done. We have been very busy working, learning, and having so much fun here at school. We hope that everyone enjoys the upcoming break and that students come back refreshed and ready to learn! Thank you for a great first term!

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, October 27th. Your child's teacher should have already reached out to you to schedule a time. If you have not yet made an appointment, please call the main office, and we will assist you. We look forward to speaking with you either in person, via Google Meet, or through a phone call.

PTO

Please join us for our upcoming PTO meeting on October 26th at 5:30 pm. We meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month. We are gearing up for a fall celebration on November 5th with more details to come. We will also be hosting our Secret Santa Shop in December.

Thank you to the PTO for hosting an amazing Grandparents Day. We had over 350 visitors!

We hope you will join the PTO and make this already amazing group even stronger!

Lighthouse Status Re-Certified!

Did you know that Rykers' Ridge is only one of five Leader In Me Lighthouse Schools in Indiana? It's true! And the staff and students are proud to share that they earned this distinction once again. It was an in depth process which allowed time for reflection on ways we are living the seven habits and how we can get better and better.

This year's focus is on our data tracking and 4DX system. We are learning more and more about our data, setting goals for ourselves and our school, and celebrating our successes. We are also forming our first parent lighthouse team. And finally, we are working to share the seven habits and make them more visible to our community by sprucing up the outside of our building.

We are so proud of the hard work and success of our Leader In Me program as well as the leaders our students are becoming.
