Principal's Message

Dear Falcon students and families,

As we start a new semester this week our school community is both excited and hopeful to begin the new experiences and challenges before them. It's a time of renewal for both our staff and students as they approach the new semester with positive optimism and confidence. Any major change such as this can sometimes also cause questions and anxiety. Please don't hesitate as a student or parent to contact our counsellors or administrators for answers, reassurance, or other solutions.

This past week we enjoyed hosting our Advanced Placement Open House. The event was extremely well attended and we were excited to share all the great opportunities our AP program has to offer. A highlight of the evening was some of our current amazing AP students sharing their experiences and the emergence of our AP Capstone/Seminar programming. We also were very fortunate to host our future grade 10 students from F.R. Haythorne in two days of exploring all of our CTS course offerings this past week. Students were able to see and sample some of the skills, trades, and activities that they could explore in their High School years here at Bev Facey, and it was awesome to see their excitement at all the possibilities.

I hope you all have amazing week, and as always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.

Semester Two Reminders

Second semester classes begin on Tuesday. Students are reminded to check their timetables on PowerSchool for second semester. There have been some changes to room assignments and student schedules due to class sizes. If you have requested a course change and it has not been made, attend the class you are registered in until your grade administrator calls you down to discuss the change. We will be calling you down as soon as we can and if you are not in the class you are registered in, your change may be delayed.

Semester Two - Timetable Course Change Requests 2023

Timetable Change Process

Requests for timetable changes for the second semester will be processed through the Course Change Request Google Form. Once your grade level administrator receives your request they will attempt to make the change. Course changes may not be viable due to class sizes, and or other selections made by the student. In those cases grade administrators will either inform a student by email or set up a meeting to alert the student that the change is not available. Access the form by clicking the button below.

Counsellor's Corner

Post Secondary Planning

As we navigate the end of the first semester, we are still making an intensified effort to touch base with each of our students around their plans for their future after high school. It is our pleasure to work along side you and your student this second semester.

Nobody knows your child better than you do. As a parent your insight into your child is a valuable resource. The more we understand about your child’s path forward, the more effectively we can support their needs. If you have questions or would like to touch base, please don't hesitate to contact us.
