This Week's Theme: EXPERIENCING FAILURE
Have you ever failed to do something? It can hurt to realize that what you tried wasn't quite good enough. But did you know that failure is actually quite valuable?
Through failure, we:
- Gain knowledge. Sometimes it's worthwhile to figure out what doesn't work so that you figure out WHY it didn't work. There is a lesson in every failure: you just have to find the lesson.
- Learn perseverance from overcoming obstacles and challenges. You never know how strong you are until you reach the point where you can't do any more! When you know your limits, you can work on pushing past them to achieve goals.
- Learn to take calculated risks. Failure doesn't mean that you are unintelligent: it means you were willing to take a risk. Don't use failure as an excuse to stop trying. Allow failure to motivate you rather than discourage you. After all, if you haven't failed, it means you haven't tried anything new!
- Look at the positive aspects of what happened. Reflect on what you did. What worked? What didn't? How can you change things next time to reach your goal?
This week's video is about famous folks who experienced failure. They didn't let their failures sink their goals; they used the failure to find focus and motivation to continue to push themselves. They realized that their ideas had value!
Learn to use failure as a tool to help yourself grow. Use it to improve what you are doing.
