CLMS Family Update
March 17, 2023
From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit
Good Afternoon CLMS Families!
It is hard to believe that we are in the final stretch of the 3rd quarter! There are just two weeks remaining for students to complete any assignments and turn them in to their teachers. Students and families are encouraged to log in to PowerSchool to see where their grades currently stand.
This week during our 2-hour late start, teachers met with their departments to review data, discuss standards, and explore any themes that they are noticing from their students. Additionally, they completed the mandated training course in preparation for the administration of the Ohio State Tests (OST). As a reminder, students will participate in the ELA OST on 4/13 and 4/18, the Math OST on 4/25, and students in 5th and 8th grade will take part in the Science OST on 5/2. Families are encouraged to avoid scheduling appointments or vacations on these dates.
Further on in this update, you will see information on our final Parent/Teacher Conference night, our upcoming College/Career Spirit Week, 8th grade scheduling night, pictures from the week, and more! Thank you for taking time to see what is happening around CLMS and please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions!
As always, Go Pirates!

8th Grade Scheduling Night- March 22nd
As a reminder, there is a 8th Grade High School Planning Night this Wednesday, March 22nd from 6-7pm in the auditorium. You will be presented with the options for high school classes. Then, there will be the opportunity to go into the cafeteria and the students will request their courses using school computers. Staff members will be available to help answer questions. You will be able to make changes until Friday, March 24th.
Some items to discuss with your child beforehand would be to decide if your student wants to participate in Band, Vo-Ag (FFA), or honors courses. Students must be recommended by their teacher to be able to take the honor courses and there is an application process to participate in Vo-Ag. These requirements will be discussed on programming night.
