Goshen Falcons SOAR

Summer Edition

Big picture

Online Registration begins July 13th

This year registration will be done totally online through our new Infinite Campus. Documents (birth certificates, immunization records, etc.) can be uploaded directly to the system. Parents will be able to register all of their children regardless of school or age.

If your student is returning to Goshen this fall, their information has already rolled over. This will make it easier to get on and register them. If you have students attending Goshen and a new kindergartner coming, it is easy to add them to your family and upload the documents. The link to registration will be sent to your email if you have students currently attending Nebo School District. If you are new to the district please go to our Goshen web page http://goshen.nebo.edu/registration and follow the links.

IF you need help, Walk-in Registration, will be held on Wednesday, July 29 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. We will have a Spanish translator available to help.

All of the registration steps must be completed before your student will be assigned to a class and a teacher. Class assignments will be after August 7th.

Goshen Elementary is a Title I School - Please apply for Free/Reduced Lunch

We are a Title I school. We receive funding to hire reading interventionists to support student learning. We use the STEPS program that was created by the University of Utah Reading Clinic (UUCR). It is research based and UUCR supports us with training and observations. The money is also used to purchase technology and software for our students. It provides professional development for our teachers.

The only way we qualify for Title I funding is through our free and reduced lunches. In order for us to keep our funding and all of the wonderful support we have, we need everyone that qualifies to apply for free/reduced lunch. There will be a link on the registration page for you to click on. Once you are at the site there is a chart that you can check to see if your family will qualify for free or reduced lunches. Everyone in our catchment area that is registered for our school (In School or Remote Learning) will help us keep our funding. Please apply.

Kindergarten Information

All kindergartners will attend morning kindergarten this year. Our teachers are Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs. Steele. We are excited to meet our new and youngest students!

All kindergartners will participate in the State KEEP assessment during the first week of school (August 19-21). On Monday, August 24th, parents of students identified with the greatest academic need will be contacted and offered afternoon OEK (Optional Extended-day Kindergarten). Mrs. Mitchell will be teaching the afternoon class. (Parents will sign up for the KEEP assessment in August.)

Kindergarten will begin Wednesday, August 26th.

The final day to return Chromebooks is July 30th! We need to get them cleaned and ready for August!
