Many of you are experiencing the college application process with your first child and there are a lot of new things being thrown at you. One important item that you cannot miss is the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA). This form is a MUST for all families to complete as all financial aid from universities and the Tennessee Hope or Tennessee Promise are determined by the FAFSA. The application opened on October 1st. The sooner you fill it out and submit it, the better.
"I BRING YOU GOOD TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY!"
Dear Silverdale Family,
It is time to start preparing for our celebration of Christmas and the season of JOY. The Christmas Shoppe Committee enjoys serving our children while helping them shop for Christmas gifts for those they love. This is a big deal for the children! Additionally, we are excited to open up these vendor spots to our parents at Silverdale.
The Christmas Shoppe consists of 15 vendors. Do you have a craft that you would like to sell? We ask that all items be $15 or under. Set up day is Tuesday, November 13, 8:30-12:00. The Shoppe will be open for students to shop November 14-16, 8:30-3:00. We ask that you be available, with your booth set up for the entirety of shopping time.
• A breakfast of pastries and coffee will be provided November 14th-16th.
• A SAGE Dining lunch is available for $5. The menu is available on the Parent Portal
• Vendors will keep all money made by the sale of their crafts.
• The cost for a vendor spot is $50.
We only have 15 vendor spots available, so please submit your intentions to participate along with the details of your craft by Friday, October 5th by filling out the form here. The committee will make known the chosen vendors by Friday, October 13th. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
This is a highly anticipated, joyous event for our children, vendors, teachers, staff, and volunteers. We look forward to celebrating the Christmas season with you!
With Christmas JOY,
The Christmas Shoppe Committee

ATHLETIC NEWS - UPDATED
1. We have had an exciting start to our year in the athletics department! We are pleased to offer all Silverdale students free admission to home games in all sports (excluding post-season play per TSSAA rules and the Powder Puff game on November 1st). Students must present ID's in one of 2 forms: Either the actual ID or a picture of the CURRENT school year ID at the gate of home athletic events. Students who do not provide this will need to pay gate admission.
2. Want to know what is going on with Silverdale Athletics? Download the new “Silverdale Athletics” App in Google Play or App Store.
Benefits of app:
You/grandparents can see schedules, rosters, directions to game locations from the app in 2 different formats.
Parents will submit scores from the game to the app from the stands and the app will “alert” followers of final game scores.
You can see a "Daily view" and see what athletic events are scheduled that day.
Alerts about game changes and cancellations will come directly to your phone.
3. Athletic Admission Passes are available for purchase. There are many different levels from Lifetime to Senior Partner. To get a pass, pick up a form at either reception desk or here.
PARENT PRAYER GROUP - UPDATED
Come join us at the Parent Prayer Group every week on Tuesday between 2:00-3:00pm in Room 114 of the Student Ministry Building across the creek. Feel free to drop in at any time, for just a few minutes or the whole hour. This group will be praying specifically for our Academy, our faculty and staff, our students, and our parents. Kelli Preast and Angela Tumlin, two of our SBA parents, lead this group.
We are excited about this opportunity and would love to have you join us. Let us know if you have any questions.
DISCOUNT CARDS
Your child should have brought home an envelope from our PTF, containing information about selling discount cards that can be used at area businesses for a year. There are several incentives offered to your child and to their class, depending on your involvement.
Your support is always appreciated!!
