Virtual Volunteering with the UN
Looking for ways to spend your summer? Why not get involved with virtual volunteering!
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. Online volunteering allows organizations and volunteers to team up to address sustainable development challenges – anywhere in the world, from any device. Online volunteering is fast, easy – and most of all, effective. When skilled, passionate individuals join forces online with great organizations working toward sustainable development goals, everyone wins!
As part of the response to COVID-19, there are live opportunities for volunteers to:
- Fund-raise to help with food shortages
- Translate/proofread surveys
- Create social media content to raise awareness of the crisis
- Produce infographics to communicate research results
- Develop websites to link up potential beneficiaries
- And many more...
Opportunities are added on a regular basis - so check the site often!

Creative Careers Industry Panel
We invite students and alumni to join us for a conversation from the perspective of alumni in the United States for our Creative Careers Panel - the second in our series of industry panels!
The University of St Andrews Careers Centre and USA Development Team are excited to bring to you a virtual career panel featuring St Andrews alumni speakers, moderated by Kristyn Emmer, North American Opportunities Manager in the University’s Career Centre.
We will be sharing information about what life in the creative world is like as it relates to marketing, communications, brand management, and other creative fields, how to make the most of your time right now to be in creative industries, and what the broad range of careers in this industry can look like. We’ll also be taking questions from you!
The event will take place via Zoom on Wednesday 10 June at 12:00 EST, or 17:00 GMT
