REMEMBER MONDAY, OCTOBER 3rd--NO SCHOOL
We are reading and writing personal narratives. both fictional and real.
We are reading and writing narratives in our Language Arts Class. We are reading either The One and Only Ivan or Rain, Reign. We are really enjoying the books so far.
RAIN,REIGN By Bella
I am reading Rain, Reign, by Ann M. Martin in Ms.Fox’s language Arts class. I am reading this because it is a fictional personal narrative. It is about a girl, name Rose with Asperger's Syndrome. She likes homonyms, her dog named Rain, prime numbers, and RULES!! So far in the book, Rose seems to have trouble talking about anything but homonyms. She has even worked on conversation starters with her classroom aide because she has a hard time talking to her classmates. One of the things I learned about people with Asperger’s Syndrome is that they often have trouble having conversations with people. It seems her dad is tough on Rose,I wonder what that will lead to. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book.
The One And Only Ivan by Ben
In Language Arts Class Jack and I are reading The One And Only Ivan By Katherine Applegate. This book is about an elephant and a gorilla. The elephant’s name is Stella and the gorilla’s name is Ivan. They both live in a mall. So far, I like the book because Ivan the Gorilla is telling the story. This book is a fictional personal narrative. I wonder what will happen next? Will Ivan get out of the mall and go to live in the jungle?
The One And Only Ivan by Jack
In Language Arts class, I am reading The One And Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. It is about a silver-back gorilla who lives in an animal exhibit in a shopping mall. The gorilla’s name is Ivan. He is the narrator of the story. So far we have only read 38 pages but it looks like a good story and I felt good about it. He has friends, an elephant named Stella and a stray dog named Bob. I think this story is going to be interesting and fun.
Density Lab
We did a lab on density in science My partner was Thomas and we were using a graduated cylinder, scale, and some orange clay (that looked like carrots). First we got the mass of clay. Next we measured the volume of the clay and divided mass by volume to find the density
