rock: a piece of Earth’s surface
physical properties: something about an object that can be seen, heard, tasted, smelled or felt
texture: how rough or smooth something is
soil: dirt that helps plants grow
Multi-Step Problem Solving Tips:
-Make sure to read through the problem and check for understanding (what questions do you have, what does it tell you, what strategies could you use, etc.)
-Highlight, underline, or circle important information
-Select a strategy that is appropriate (refer back to parent handout sent before Thanksgiving break)
-Solve each step of the problem
-Find a way to check and justify your answer (Ask if it is a reasonable answer)
-Label your answer (turn the question into a statement)
We hope that you find these resources useful as you use them at home.
