Crossing the Finish Line
Sadly Noah's race on Saturday didn't go as well as he wanted. He started well, but about a mile in he began to tire. He became frustrated, upset, and sad. The next 1.7 miles were tough, he wanted to quit, thought he was going to die, and eventually became angry at me. All that changed when he saw the finish line, he was rejuvenated, excited, and was healed from the fatigue that was on the verge of "killing him." Noah crossed the finish line the way you are supposed to......By Sprinting Across.
Noah's race is a lot like our school year. We all started strong, but the weight of initiatives, change, and test scores quickly caused us to tire. We have all experienced frustration, angst, and sadness this year. Just like Noah, each of you have stepped up to cross the finish line strong. Enjoy this last week with students, have fun, play around, and focus on the reason we all do what we do.........The Kids!
