Welcome to K-C!
What you really need to know
We are having a great time getting to know each other :) Thank you for helping to make your child's initiation into Eliot School so positive. They are all Eliot Eagles now!
Here are a few practical items to remember. You are already doing really well at these:
- Arrive on time. Please deliver your child to the building as early at 8:05, but always before 8:15 so they are in the classroom, ready to learn by 8:20.
- Send in your orange take-home folder EVERY DAY!
- Yay, you for sending in small, manageable snacks :) For the health and safety of everyone, please NO NUTS, NO PEANUT BUTTER, NO SESAME (that includes hummus), poppy seeds or shellfish for snack time.
- This is a hard one: KASE has a separate classroom, their own take-home folders, different curriculum, and different teachers. Communications about KASE dismissal and lunch, or other questions or instructions regarding KASE, should go in your black KASE folder or via email to Mrs. Murphy.
- Wear sneakers on Thursdays for PE.
- Please return borrowed library books in your child's backpack each week on or before Monday. Borrowing will begin next week!
- Send in an extra set of "JUST IN CASE" clothes in a ziplock bag.
- Read with your child every day. I mean it. Thank me later.
Our Mystery Reader sign up is live on Bloomz!
If you would like to be a reader, visit Bloomz and click on calendar to sign up for ONE slot per parent. Big and little siblings are always welcome. You can request a slot for an Eliot sib to read without you via email to me and I will work out a time with their teacher.
Please bring ONLY ONE favorite story to share with the class. Keep your turn a secret and we'll surprise the class when you arrive at 8:45. Check in at the office and wait in the hall outside the classroom. We'll come tell you when we're ready.

All in a days work...
- We are learning our classroom routines, how to get in and out of the bathroom (the door is heavy!) and how to be kind and cooperative listeners and teammates.
- We discussed "Green choices" and "Red choices" we can make at school and read the story No David to aid our discussion about making good, kind, safe and responsible choices throughout each day.
- We listened carefully to directions and followed many steps to draw our own pictures of David! We'll color them in next week.
- We had our first introduction to math materials and have begun to explore counting, sorting, and building with math manipulatives.
