Dear Young Families,
Today, Mrs. Zalabak’s structured classroom visited Bronkberry Farms.
On Wednesday, students participated in Walk to School Day before school and during recess time. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring this event and providing students with participation prizes.
The Naperville Half Marathon/5K occurs this Sunday. We look forward to cheering on our staff and parent runners participating at this wonderful event.
Conferences can be scheduled through Power PTC through Friday, 10/26 at 4:00 pm.

- The Parent Diversity Advisory Council (PDAC) will host its first meeting of the school year on Tuesday, October 23rd, 7:00-9:00 pm, at Crouse Education Center, 780 Shoreline Drive, Aurora. Please note that only parents who have previously signed up with the PTA and been confirmed by the PTA as a fall party volunteer are able to attend.
Students change into their costumes before the party. We ask that parents do not send food items to school. Students will receive a nurse approved treat (Halloween Oreos) as a snack during the fall party.
If you would like your child to participate in an alternate activity during the fall party, please contact the classroom teacher. Students participating in the alternate activity will do online activities in the lmc.
- Report Cards Open in eschool after 4:00 pm
**Parents will need their username and password to access their child’s grades and
attendance records in eschool.
**ELL report cards will be available in Home Access Center. The ELL report cards can be
located in the “Grades” tab, along with the district report card.

Story Character (No-Carving) Pumpkin Decoration Event (10/15-10/26)
Pumpkin Decoration Directions:
- Choose a character from a favorite book for your pumpkin.
- Be Creative! Use paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items on the pumpkin. (Please don’t carve or pierce the pumpkin)
- On the display form include the story title, book character, and author of the book written on the registration form.
- Families with more than one student can turn in a Family Project. Or, siblings may decorate a pumpkin individually.
- Pumpkins are to be turned in between October 15 and 26.
- Pumpkins will be on display from 10/15-10/26. Pumpkins will go home on October 26
PTA Reflections Program
The theme for the 2018-2019 school year is: “HEROES AROUND ME”
Reflections is a national PTA-sponsored program that encourages students to explore their creativity in the arts. Students in all grades K-5 can submit one or more entries in any or all of the following categories: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Dance Choreography, Musical Composition, or Film/Video Production.
Please turn in submission form and project at the same time. Everything is due to Young by November 2.
