LOCAL VOCALS KID'S COMPANY

Sept. 28th News

Local Vocals Lowdown

In a choir, everyone plays an important part as each voice lends to the whole sound. This semester we are not only focusing on choral elements, but performance as well. As a result, there will be speaking, dancing, and singing roles in the performance at the end of the semester. Last night, everyone completed a fun informational sheet while we reviewed the music and the script for the show. This allowed everyone to think about their interests and if they would like to audition for a particular role. REMEMBER, it is absolutely not necessary to audition because everyone will play an important role. However, we will give an audition opportunity to anyone who wishes to be considered for a particular dancing scene or a solo.

AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD during class NEXT WEEK!

There will be three groups of auditions held: solo singing, choreography/dance, and acting/speaking. See below for important practice information on each. Please show your child and have them practice one or more if they will be auditioning.

The following two lines will need to be cited:

* Welcome to our Local Vocals Kid's Company Concert! We are so excited you decided to join us tonight in our celebration of "On Broadway"!

* (AS MISS HANNIGAN FROM "ANNIE") Aha! I caught you! What do you think you're doing? Get up and do your chores! Make your bed, sweep those floors, and make this dump shine like the top of the Chrysler Building!

If your child did not attend class last night and still needs to fill out an information sheet, we will be happy to email one to you to complete at home and bring to class on Monday.

Importantant Reminder...

Class begins at 6:45. If you need to drop your child off early, please let us know ahead of time so we can make special arrangements. If you drop your child off too early, our teachers may not have arrived to the building yet. We don't want anyone roaming the halls without us there!

And the winner is...

The winner of the bring a buddy tuition credit drawing is Nadia Lushinsky! Congratulations Nadia! Be on the look out for an email from us. Anyone else who had a buddy sign up will receive a $10 referral credit off tuition next semester. Thank you to everyone who brought a buddy to class to share in the fun!

We look forward to seeing you next week!
