Dear Area 31 Entrepreneurs and Friends

What should a startup consider when making decisions based on data? Following the first session on big data that we hosted last week in Area 31, next Wednesday we will tackle data and decision making for startups. join us in a discussion with Enrique Otero Muras, is Innovation Analyst & Data Scientist @ BEEVA, about data analytics, geolocalized data and referral systems. Right before this session the director of Lanzadera will come to present their acceleration program. On Monday we will host 2014's last get together for the teams in the incubator in Area 31. Also, on Friday, Betabeers december will bring 90+ developers to Area 31.

Outside of Area 31, you should check out Venture Day Tokyo and the EU Mobile Challenge. And, from our blog, and interview with E-nlaza, a platform connecting cancer patients and their relatives to professionals and to services aimed at improving their quality of life throughout the different phases of disease.

Launching EU Mobile Challenge

Registration Deadline Dec 31st.
IE Business School, in collaboration with Applied Innovation Institute and Mobile World Capital Barcelona bring to you the first edition of the EU Mobile Challenge. If you have a great idea for an app or game, join the EU Mobile Challenge and turn your dreams into reality.
14 European countries will host the local and regional competitions of the EU Mobile Challenge. All the young developers will have their shot to make it to the final and compete for 3 places at the Mobile World Capital Barcelona World Finals in 2015. Learn more and apply here.

Meet the Startups in Area 31: e-nlaza

e-nlaza offers both cancer patients and their relatives an online platform that connects them to professionals and to services aimed at improving their quality of life throughout the different phases of disease. It offers an integral service that aims to stand by the strictly medical concerns. The idea was developed during a Management Course at IE Business School and was born out of the professional needs and personal experience of some members of the team. Read more

The use of Area 31 as a coworking space will be limited during the following days:
  • Tuesday Dec 9th, 18:00-19:00, half of the space will be available for coworking
  • Wednesday Dec 10th, 19:00-20:30, half of the space will be available for coworking
  • Friday Dec 12th, 19:00-22:00, half of the space will be available for coworking
