The self-only contribution limits have not changed and remain at $3450.
2018 Benefits Open Enrollment: Voluntary Benefits Available to You
Annual Enrollment Time!
Belton School District has partnered with Benefits Direct to provide a benefits package designed to protect your general well-being while being mindful of life’s potential unexpected events. These products are voluntary so you may choose to enroll in as many plans as you wish.
Our enrollment will take place May 7th-15th. During this time, you will be able to speak with a non-commissioned benefit counselor to learn about the features and benefits of the plans and help you make an evaluation of this program for yourself and your family. All employees are required to meet with a counselor and sign-up sheets will be utilized so you can pick a time that works best for you. In addition to the offerings below, you will also have the opportunity to review your medical, dental, and vision plans.
Highlights include:
Life Insurance: Voluntary term and new permanent life options available at very reasonable costs. Coverage is available for your spouse and child(ren) as well.
Short-Term Disability: Insurance that helps provide the income you need to continue paying your mortgage or other bills when you are not able to work due to a non-related work injury, illness or pregnancy.
Accident: Coverage that provides cash benefits for events ranging from accidental injuries to accidental deaths. This plan provides on-and-off the job coverage. The schedule lists payments for hospitalization, fractures and dislocations, emergency room visits, major diagnostic exams, physical therapy and more.
Cancer: Provides fixed benefits for early detection, incidence, and treatment of certain types of cancer, as well as related expenses such as screenings, hospital confinement, radiation/chemotherapy, surgery and hospice care. It also helps protect your income and savings from expenses that aren’t covered by major medical such as travel expenses, lodging, experimental treatment, etc.
Critical Illness: This policy is designed to provide you with a lump sum benefit upon the diagnosis of a critical illness such as a heart attack, stroke, heart, organ, or kidney failure and more. It also provides a $50/yr benefit for completing certain routine wellness screenings or procedures.
Hospital Indemnity: This policy will help you pay for out of pocket expenses such as co-pays and deductibles should you be hospitalized. You can spend the money however you choose.
Identity Theft-New, This is the fastest growing crime in the U.S. The crime can be devastating and is often costly and time-consuming to resolve. InfoArmor can help restore your identity in the event it is stolen.
Legal Plans-New, MetLaw provides easy, direct access to a national network of attorneys who provide telephone advice and office consultations. Legal services include wills and trusts, document preparation and review, real estate matters, traffic and juvenile matters, family law, including adoption.
The District is pleased to offer these plans as part of your benefits package and look forward to a very successful enrollment!
