Transfer Connections
News for the Week of January 28, 2013
Not all who wander are lost.. or are they?
Being a transfer student, you learn quickly to navigate through the world, let alone through our world, Seattle University. I transferred to Seattle University during March 2010, right at the cusp of Spring Quarter. It was extremely challenging transferring in during Spring Quarter; people already had friend groups, I was aware of Seattle and it’s surrounding but had no idea what to expect. I was out of my comfort zone, but remained optimistic.
I was not aware of any Transfer events, but remained a part of this Transfer population. I was proud to be a Transfer student and found myself jumping at each opportunity to become involved on campus. What I found most valuable was that Seattle University’s advertising about Transfer events and I became aware, I didn’t feel lost. Becoming involved on campus, as well as living on campus made me aware of my surroundings. I also realized that students as well as professors appreciated my experience form my other university, and I felt a part of something bigger than myself: this school.
