A graduate of the Imperial Military Academy and the Military Staff College, Tojo served briefly in Japan’s embassy in Berlin after WWI. He was an esteemed administrator and skillful field commander. He became noted as a stern disciplinarian. In 1928 he was made commander of the lst Infantry Regiment. In 1937 he was named chief of staff of the Kuantung Army in Manchuria. He returned to Tokyo in 1938 as vice-minister of war and was one of the leading advocates of Japan’s Pact with Germany an Italy. In July 1940 he was appointed minister of war in the cabinet of Prime Minister Konoe Fumimaro. Tōjō later became prime minister on October 18, 1941, and pledged his government to a Greater East Asia program, a “New Order in Asia.” He retained control of the Ministry of War and was also minister of commerce and industry from 1943. Tojo loves talking about his military and being in it. Japanese food is his favorite and loves speaking about war.

As the Soviet government developed, he engaged in a power struggle against Joseph Stalin, which he lost, leading to his exile again. His legacy of being the most brilliant mind of the Communist Revolution and his reputation as a tireless worker, rousing public speaker and decisive administrator was restored after many years. However, Trotsky had allowed his intelligence and arrogance to antagonize those who were less than himself, and in the end, alienated many around him, allowing deceitful men like Stalin to take advantage. Trotsky was a hard worker and loved doing it. He like speaking about revolutions, intellect and others.

Gandhi’s commitment to non-violence and his belief in simple living has added a huge amount of hope for oppressed and marginalized people throughout the world.
