Cape's Mission & Vision

Mission: To provide a safe and supportive learning community where every student experiences success.

Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.

Message from Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund

Dear Cape Parents,

It is hard to believe that it’s already November! During the month of November, we are reminded of all the things for which we are thankful each day. Our Cape families are at the top of our list! We are very thankful and feel honored to work with the students at Cape Elementary. We are a school family! We rely on each other to help make a difference in the lives of the students that we teach. Without the partnership between students, staff, parents and community sponsors, none of this would be possible. So, once again, thank you.

With Thanksgiving and Winter Break approaching, please keep in mind how unscheduled interruptions prior to the holidays impact the students’ learning. Please plan your trips during the times of breaks to keep loss of instruction at a minimum. Teachers will be teaching every day and students will miss out on valuable instructional time if they aren’t at school. Your support with maintaining consistent attendance, including arriving at school on time, truly makes a difference. Every day counts! We appreciate your partnership and are thankful for the important role you play in your child’s education.

As we continue through the month of November, remember to model for your child that the simple things in life matter the most. This is a great life-long lesson that we should continue to revisit in our minds and hearts throughout the year.

According to a Harvard Health study, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. It helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. In these stressful times, this is more important than ever. Looking forward to continuing to work with you, to build great minds, at Cape Elementary.

Sincerely,

Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
