Stonewall Jackson

Early years
Stonewall Jackson was born in 1824, in Clarksburg, WV. He went to the United States Millitary Acadamy, which is just north of NYC. Right after he graduated in 1846, he was just in time to fight in the Mexican American war.
Why is Stonewall Jackson important?
He served as a Confederate general under Robert E. Lee. Stonewall Jackson also lead troops to battles such as Bull run, Antietam, and Fredericksburg. He got his name because of how strong he was.
Life after civil war
Stonewall Jackson unfortunately, was shot by his own troops at the battle of Chancellorsville. (of course on accident) He is still buried today at stonewall Jackson memorial cemetery in Lexington city, VA. Yes he does have a memorial. His memorial is the cemetery that he was buried in. Before Jackson died he said this famous quote "Let us cross over the river and rest under the shade of trees."

-Thomas Johnathan Jackson, was his full name
-He wasn't buried until May 15, 1963 which was 100 years after he died.
-He got his name by his strength phyisically and mentally in the civil war.
-His father died when he was two.
-He made is own Sunday school for slaves in Lexington, Virgina.
