November Media Specialist PLC Details...

We have a wonderful opportunity for our November Media Specialist PLC (Monthly Meeting). On November 20th & 21st we will be meeting at UNCG to tour their new TRC and Jackson Library. During the tour, our wonderful host will be talking about our UNCG partnership and borrowing opportunities. Please bring your GCS ID if possible. Plan to arrive a few minutes early to make sure no one gets left behind.

LOCATION: New Education Building on the corner of Spring Garden and Stirling

Schedule…

  • HS & MS on Wed, Nov. 20th - Room 224
  • Elementary groups 1 & 2 on Thurs. Nov. 21st -Room 226
  • 3:00 to 4:00- tour 1- leave for tour. You will return for our combined meeting.
    If you choose to attend tour 2 please remember to arrive at 4:00 to attend the meeting.
  • 4:00 to 5:00- combined meeting with both groups (Topics include BOB)
  • 5:00 to 6:00- tour 2- anyone not attending tour 1 will leave after group meeting for their tour.

Parking…

  • Please park in the Oakland Parking deck (Behind Yum Yums).
  • When you enter, pull a ticket, this ticket can be discarded. You will receive a special ticket during the tour or meeting to allow you to exit without charge.

NOTE* If you park anywhere else on campus there will be a charge.

    Elementary & Middle Schools- please make sure all CIPA skills are taught and you have logged into iSafe, updated your student population, and Certified Complete. (Remember- you must download the materials in order to view the certify complete button)

Battle of the Books Volunteer's NEEDED

•Over 100 volunteers will be needed for this years battles.

•If you or someone you know, are interested in volunteering, PLEASE send the following link to them or have them contact our office.

CIPA

Please don't forget that CIPA is due on December 20th for elementary and middle schools.

Steps:

  1. CLICK on the "iSafe" log in link on the LMS webpage under CIPA
  2. Log in using your complete email address for your username
    (If you don't remember your password, please click forgot password. iSafe will email your password.)
  3. Click "My Info"
  4. Scroll down to your school and click "update" to update your school number
  5. Click "Certify Complete"

Remember:

  • In order to see the "Certify Complete" link, you must first download the grade level materials.

Storyteller visits GCS

Jim Weiss (Official) finished his three day residency in Guilford County Schools with a spirited performance at Bessemer Elementary. During his residency he performed for over 2,000 students thanks to a generous grant from Target.
