“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.
Happy Friday Davis Families,
I hope you all have had a great week. There is quite a bit of information below so I will keep my message short. I know that you have received a lot of communication this week, and at times it has changed by the day. For now, much of that communication pertains to Covid and protocols.
I just want to thank you all for your patience, your understanding, and your support. As always, it is my plan to be transparent and open in sharing information as I receive it. We will continue to work together to do all that we can for our students and keep them safe.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Go Irish!
Davis MS Updates
Attention 7th and 8th Grade Students :
DMS Book Fair
Dear Davis Families,
We’re excited to invite Davis Middle School students to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair! This event is an opportunity for Davis students to build their home libraries and to further their love of reading. As always, all purchases benefit our school.
Our Book Fair will be a familiar and welcome event for our students, and we're very excited to bring it back to Davis. Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from January 24th to January 28th during school hours (we hope to host a second Book Fair with a family shopping evening event later this year!):
Our Book Fair offers a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our Fair. Grandparents, friends, and others can contribute, too! The Fair also accepts cash, credit card, and check.
If your student can’t make it to the Fair, you can shop online at our school’s Virtual Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school. Visit our Book Fair homepage (https://www.scholastic.com/bf/dublindavis) to learn more and to get started with eWallet and online shopping.
We’re excited to celebrate our love of books together at the Book Fair - we look forward to seeing our Davis students there! Happy reading!
