WST Weekly Update

January 10 - 14, 2022

Welcome Back to School

After a couple of weeks of crazy weather, it's nice to look out the window and see the beautiful sun shining.

Covid Updates:

WST is seeing a significant increase in Covid cases since returning from break. Please remember if your student is ill to please keep them home from school. WST does have the ability to rapid test students who may need one. It is best if students/parents contact us from the parking lot and we can bring the test out to them. You can call our main office number 360-473-0550 to have someone test your child in the parking lot.

End of Semester Soon:

The end of the semester is coming up quickly! Last day of 1st semester classes is Monday, January 31. Second semester begins Tuesday, February 1. Please check in with your students on their grades.

Returning Students for the 2022-2023 School Year:

Students interested in participating in a second year at WST have the opportunity to apply BEFORE open registration. The application is being developed now and it will be out to students and families soon.

Second year students may choose to take a second year of their current program (if offered), or apply for a new program of interest.

Winter Weather

The last couple of weeks have shown that the weather can be particularly tricky in the winter. A few reminders about impacts to WST because of winter weather challenges.

Most important: WST follows the Bremerton School District late start and closures. WST will post on the WST website - and via social media.

Bremerton School District sends notification via Flash Alert by 5:30 am.

If Bremerton School District has a 2-hour late start, THEN, there is NO AM session at WST.

If Bremerton School District is closed, THEN, WST is closed, no AM or PM session.

If your sending school calls for late start, AM students are excused from WST for the day. If your student is a self-driver and WST is open, your student may drive to WST if it is safe to do so.

If your sending school closes school for the day, then AM and PM students are excused from WST for the day. If your student is a self-driver and WST is open, your student may drive to WST if it is safe to do so.

Remember, if Bremerton School District is 2 hours late, there is NO AM session at WST. If Bremerton School District is closed, WST is CLOSED and no school for WST.
