Using Creative Arts and Expression in Grief Counseling

Join us for an evening of learning to use creative arts in grief counseling from Allyson Drake of Full Circle Grief Center. The workshop is open to all current students, alumni, and community members. Allyson will demonstrate different techniques and activities to use in the college counseling setting as well as the K-12 setting.


Admission: Free. However, Chi Sigma Iota greatly appreciates a donation of art supplies that will go to Full Circle Grief Center. See below for "in need"/recommended items.

Who is Allyson?

Allyson Drake is the Founder and Executive Director of Full Circle Grief Center as well as a graduate of VCU's Counselor Education program! She established Full Circle in 2008 to provide free bereavement counseling to Richmond's grieving families. Full Circle utilizes numerous methods in the creative arts to help children and families heal.

Location and Recommended Supplies

Monday, Feb. 29th, 6-7:30pm

Richmond Salon IV in VCU Student Commons (2nd floor) at 907 Floyd Ave.

Recommended Art Supplies for Full Circle:

- Battery operated candles

- Canvases (8x10 and 11x14)

- Fabric markers and paint (4 oz. bottles)

- Foam hearts

- Latex balloons

- Mason jars (unused)

- Juice boxes

- Paper towels

- Paint pens

- Small bubbles

- Water soluble wax pastels


* This is just a recommended list, but any type of art supplies will do!
