Principal's Note
Dear AMS Families,
This week, Mother Nature reminded us that winter is not quite over yet. However, the calendar tells us that the start of spring is next week. Spring in middle school is an exciting time. We have many events coming up in the last few months of the school year, including field trips, guest speakers, transition events, and culminating activities. It's truly my favorite time of year--because it's wonderful to see the changes that occur in our middle schoolers and the progress they have made since the beginning of the school year.
As part of our Town Hall meetings that I wrote to you about last week, we are also reinforcing that there is so much learning and work to still be done, and we are encouraging students to stick to their positive work habits like completing homework assignments, coming to class prepared, and staying engaged during instructional times. These practices will ensure a successful wrap-up to the school year and prepare students for next year's expectations.
Be well,
Kristen

Middle school students are faced with all sorts of challenges. How, as parents, can you connect with your student to spark meaningful conversation about the challenges they may face. Here is an article from Common Sense Media that gives some guidance on how to engage in these conversations. https://www.commonsensemedia.org/articles/how-to-talk-to-kids-about-difficult-subjects
