Please be aware of the really cool icons and pictures that are on the newsletter. Mrs. Strong AKA "Glue Girl" has been working hard to make the newsletter easy for all to get the information they need. I also hope to make it so anyone can access the information from any device! Smore has been great platform for this and I appreciate all of you who follow our school! Please check out all of the links as there will be important information provided within those links.
PLEASE SIGN UP FOR Parent Teacher Conferences! I know it sounds strange as we haven't been in school long but it is important to meet with parents early to make sure we are headed in the right direction!
The students have been working hard at Lincoln each and everyday. We are finishing up fall assessments and looking forward to our curriculum work! Many teachers are getting into the instruction and I am sure you will start seeing a lot more in the way of homework. I have seen some amazing writing by the 4th and 5th grade classes! Things they wish for and the part of their body they most like! We have some great writing teachers and students here! I have also seen some amazing work out of the 3rd grade as they learn math. A few words that I have noticed that we have learned a few motions for are arrays, sum, difference, product, and quotient. Our 2nd grade has been measuring with their rulers, and I have noticed the first grade has been writing about things they like and the different parts of a story... beginning, middle, and end! Last but not least I have been happy hearing about all of those letter days that are taking place in kindergarten! For the letter "F" I had one of my favorite... a U of M Football from a student! GO BLUE!
Be sure to dress WARMER! We are in those days of cold morning and dizzily days. Be sure to have coats, boots, gloves, and warm hats ready to go each day just in case. I will be asking kids to show me if they have warm jackets if they are not wearing them outside.
If you pick up or drop off your child you will be seeing more bright green belts out on the streets next week. Our safety patrol will be out and about making sure kids are staying safe. Mrs. Daniel and Mrs. Friske have been working hard on getting the kids ready for this task. If you are walking your child to school or crossing the street please wait with them as the patrolers are being asked to help all people cross.
PTO has been working hard getting the mums out to the people who ordered them! A huge shout out to Addie Lutz, Bill Shelton, Melissa and Andy Mayer who helped unload and distribute the mums.
PLEASE! Get out and get Fitness for Funds donations. Get on anyone who can help with this! This is our big generator of funds for the school and we hope to raise funds for classroom teachers supplies, field trips, student event days, and things like carnival!
Thank you all for making this truly a special place for everyone!
