Dear School Families, Teachers, and Staff,
My name is Molly Lahart and I currently have 2 children at St. Pat's. Nora is a 6th grader and Maddie is a 3rd grader. I serve as the Treasurer for our School Board and am glad to share updates from our January School Board meeting.
It was so wonderful to see so many of you this past weekend at The Main Event. We had an amazing turnout of St. Patrick Families and supporters. Thank you to all who were able to attend, those as well as those who supported and volunteered at the event!
Below are some updates from the School Board:
- Our January meeting included representatives from the 7th and 8th grade class presenting their ideas for their service learning project. We are excited to see the outdoor Stations of the Cross take shape this spring!
- We are doing well on our Annual Appeal budget and soon will share announcements about where we are in our goal.
- The School board passed a school budget for the '22-'23 school year. This was then sent on to the Parish Finance Committee who approved the budget at their February meeting. The budget includes a 3% tuition increase to help meet rising costs for basic things like food costs and fuel.
- We are considering some minor adjustments to the School Uniform Policy which we will discuss at our February meeting.
- The board began discussions about the Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) and how they will impact our school in the future. The ESA's are a tremendous resource for families who wish to choose a Catholic education for their children. For more information about ESA eligibility, please click here. - We received the findings of a school security assessment and will work through the information to continue to make sure that our school is as safe as it can be.
Our next school board meeting is February 28th (date changed from February 23) at 6:00 p.m. in the Commons (agenda). You are always welcome to attend our School Board meetings.
