This Week...
What a wonderful week at BWE. We had an amazing turnout at our Math Night. Thank you to all who came by the check it out. Miss it? Don't worry! We will have another interactive, fun opportunity during Literacy Night in March. Details to come.
Forgive my repetition with the later announcements regarding K and PreK registration. I will run those a few more times to make sure it gets to everyone it applies to.
Please consider taking the parent survey on student assessments (below). Our district committee will use this information to help drive our conversations.
Enjoy this sunshine!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Assessment Survey - For parents
Staff, we will be sending the following home to our families to get a pulse on how they feel about the assessments. Below is the message going home:
Testing is an inevitable part of the educational framework. As a district, we believe that the purpose of testing is to drive our instruction. Our teachers use a variety of assessment tools in the classroom to determine student needs and design their instruction accordingly.
Over the past few years, unfortunately, the amount of testing being mandated by the State of Ohio has increased. This has caused us to want to do an assessment inventory of all administered standardized tests in the district. In this process we will examine all district-level given tests and make decisions about which tests are high quality and necessary for our students to take and which tests can be modified or eliminated. For more information on which assessments we give as a district, please visit www.bigwalnutacademics.com
This survey is an important part of our assessment inventory. Your responses will help shape recommendations for the future of the district’s testing program. Please know that your responses to this survey are confidential. Thank you for taking the time to give your input!
