Do you have friends interested in our School?
February is Visit Our Schools Month (VOSM). Each Tuesday during this month-long event, community members are invited to tours of all of our schools. This is a great opportunity for us to engage with our community about the great things that are happening in our District everyday. While schools welcome members of the public year-round, this coordinated effort provides parents and community members an opportunity to learn more about the many educational opportunities available.
The safety of our students will always remain our top priority. All tour participants will be checked in through normal procedures that visitors follow. Principals or their designee will lead the tours, and groups will never be left unsupervised. Students will continue classroom activities, and the tours will not interfere with student learning.
The tours are scheduled for each Tuesday morning at 9:30 in February with a special evening tour on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m.
High School students & Parents Mark your calendars and plan on attending
Climate and Connectedness Survey
Family Parents,
The Anchorage School District is partnering with the Association of Alaska School Boards to conduct the School Climate and Connectedness Survey©, a statewide survey for students, staff, and families. This survey measures their perceptions of each school's climate including engagement of students, staff, and families. School staff will use the results to inform their efforts to ensure we have a supportive and caring program for homeschool families.
Family Partnership parent/guardians are asked to complete a family survey. Please log on to the survey here: surveys.panoramaed.com/aasb
Your access code: familypartnershipfamily
The family survey is open now and will remain open until March 31st.
Because Family Partnership is a homeschool program, please answer the survey questions through the perspective of your child's home education or skip the questions that do not apply.
Thank you for your cooperation in this year’s School Climate and Connectedness Survey.
Sincerely,
Jessica Parker
Family Partnership Principal

Employee Spotlight
Position: Sponsor Teacher
Favorite Part of Job: Encouraging students and parents in the journey! Homeschooling is not for the faint-hearted and requires tremendous effort to be successful! I thoughly enjoy watching students make it all the way to graduation and receive their diplomas!
Hobbies: I enjoy volunteering at the Hiland prison, teaching music, and getting outside in our great state with friends and family!
Favorite Food: Easy - Chicken Dijon at Simons and Seaforts!
Favorite Animal: My dog, Bella
It was a great privilege to have all four of my children be home-schooled through Family Partnership, from Kindergarten through graduation! The results have been amazing and I am extremely grateful for the FPCS team (sponsors, registrar, reimbursements, ordering, vendors, etc.) who work together to make it all happen for students! I am also amazed that I can have a job where I can support parents everyday who are willing to sacrifice their time and energy to raise their kids to their full potential!
Poem for the week of February 14th
I'm In Love with You - By: Meagan D. Murdoch
It's the way you say I love you and the way you hold my hand.
There's just so much about you I completely understand.
It's the twinkle in your eye that I only see when you look at me.
It's the warmth of your hands; it sends a shock straight to my feet.
It's how you always amaze me, you surprise me all day long.
This I know is true.
Baby, I'm in love with you!
