WCPS Common Language

In support of the WCPS vision, the instructional teams collaboratively and intentionally established a common language for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning.

Digital Learning Plan

Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) is continually looking for ways to inspire and transform teaching and learning. In June of 2015, Dr. Clayton Wilcox accepted the Future Ready District Pledge with a commitment to making WCPS Future Ready. The WCPS Digital Learning Plan was approved by our Board of Education on December 1, 2015.

WCPS Digital Deployment Guide

In support of the Digital Learning Plan, a Digital Deployment Guide was developed and shared with principals and teachers. As we shifted to a 1:1 School System in Grades 3-12, this guide provided multiple paths to acquire important information about the next steps in digital learning.

WCPS Essential Curriculum

Curriculum development is a dynamic and continuous process reliant upon regular revision. During the 2014-2015 school year, our curriculum leaders and a team of teachers revised our curriculum. As the Essential Curriculum is transformed and implemented in grades prekindergarten through grade 12, monthly newsletters are shared to inform teachers and staff of updates and next steps.

Professional Development Opportunities

All WCPS teachers have multiple opportunities to personalize their own professional learning! Click here to view the various offerings, including centralized professional development, Twitter Chats, Training Modules, etc.

Training Modules

As teachers continuously explore new ways to maximize digital tools in support of student learning, specific training is needed. An easy to use Training Module site provides teachers with a variety of videos that share how to use multiple tools. This method allows teachers to learn anytime, anywhere, based on their specific needs and interests.

WCPS Library Resources Portal

WCPS provides equitable access to wide range of vetted digital content for instructional purposes, including 27 subscription resources, a system-wide ebook collection, and a video content distribution system.
