Week of 4-15-19
4-Day Week!
A 1/2 day last Friday and no school this Friday. Still to much to do! We have 2 Team Days this week with multiple meetings for our LC students and potential LC students. The spring rush is in full swing!
MSTEP testing this week:
Tuesday: 5th Grade Math
Thursday: 5th Grade Science
I will do make ups as I am available. Last week ran quiet smoothly! Thank you to all of our 5th grade teachers for their efforts and diligence in testing administration and security. We passed our "inspection" by our board office representative. Mr. Clark also plans to visit during 3rd, 4th, & 6th grade testing to observe testing administration and security. I will also observe during testing sessions, reviewing the MDE checklist, to keep as evidence for our internal MSTEP file at Morgan. It proves we know the TAM and AIG and are following the state testing protocol.
Report Cards are also due this week. Please drop report cards by 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16 (that's tomorrow). The Main Office will verify cards and need to send on to the board office by 12:00 PM on Wednesday, April 17. Once report cards are verified and sent on, NO further changes can be made to the cards.
Report Cards will be sent home electronically by the end of the day on Monday, April 22.
Have a great week!
Sue
DI Congratulations!
The kids even recited the Morgan Pledge (unprompted by adults) prior to starting their competition!

Love Needs No Words Challenge

- Autism Awareness Month: “Love Needs No Words Challenge”
Utica Community Schools along with other districts in Macomb County will be participating in the "Love Needs No Words" challenge in honor of Autism Awareness Month. The most recent statistics state that one out of fifty-nine students are on the spectrum and it is important to spread awareness not only during the month of April but throughout the entire year.
The purpose of the challenge is to teach empathy. The process of this project will challenge others to experience how some students with autism need to persevere and problem-solve throughout their school day without having the ability to use verbal communication effectively. See the attachment (#13A) for suggested details on participating in this challenge. Thank you for spreading awareness and acceptance of the differences in others. The challenge is Friday, April 26, 2019 and is for all teachers and students, K-12.
