School Board commitments as part of the salary schedule improvements

The Garfield Re-2 School Board had a conversation at their first meeting in September about the salary schedules that they would like to implement if additional revenue is found. They answered a couple of questions about those salary schedules.

The school board has committed to revisiting those 52 educators in the "ghost area" of the certified staff salary schedule (the white blocks underneath the steps and lanes). Their commitment was that should Garfield Re-2 be able to implement the new certified staff salary schedules, those people in the ghost area will not be harmed. They have asked the District's negotiating arm, Collaborative Solutions, for a proposed solution to the issue.

As a point of clarification, they reminded people that the Superintendent's salary is NOT impacted by the salary schedule adjustments. He is on contract that is directly negotiated with the school board.
