Dear Families

Welcome Back
Welcome back for the start of the 2023 school year. Welcome to all our new students and their families. We hope your time at St Emilie's will be rewarding and enjoyable.

We also welcome to our school Mrs Claire Soulsby (Science Specialist) and Mrs Ursula Francis (Education Assistant). We welcome back Mrs Jodie Ryan (Year 3 Teacher) after her year on leave.

The first week will be a little hectic as everyone settles into routines for the new school year. As always, if you have any concerns please make sure you make an appointment and see your child’s teacher as they are willing and eager to help, your child’s classroom teacher should always be your first port of call.

Parent Information Evening

On Wednesday 1st February, we have our Parent Information Sessions for the school year, this is an important event and we ask that at least one parent attend.

Session One is from 5pm to 5.30pm and Session Two is from 5.45pm to 6.15pm.

Please, note that Session Two is a repeat of Parent Information Session One. This is to assist families with more than one child attending St Emilie's, parents only need to attend one (1) session.

Sacramental Commitment Masses

Enrolment forms for children receiving a Sacrament will be available from the Church from next weekend, the 4th and 5th of February. The completed forms are to be brought to the Sacramental Commitment Masses on the weekends of the 11th/12th February and the 18th/19th February.

Welcome Mass

On Wednesday 8th February at 9.00am, we will join together for a Community Mass to celebrate the start of the new school year. There will be more information about this celebration in the weekly reminders next week.

Change to Pre-Primary Finish Time

A reminder that there is a change to the finish time for Pre-Primary students in 2023. The Pre-Primary students will finish their school day at 3pm, the same as our Year One to Six students.

Carpark Procedures

Student safety is of the utmost importance here at St Emilie’s. It is important that you familiarise yourself with the carpark and drive-through procedures. Additionally, we highly recommend that you share this information with grandparents/relatives/friends that may collect your child/ren.

St Emilie’s has established a drive-through system to facilitate a safe and efficient means of delivering and collecting children by car without the need to park. A one-way system around the school block has been designed for both morning drop-off and afternoon pickup, to ensure traffic movement is predictable, safe and efficient. All cars must enter via the Amherst Road roundabout entrance.

Please click here to view the procedure and map. With the change in finishing times for our Pre-Primary students, we anticipate we may need to review this procedure in the weeks to come.

There is also some information below from the City of Gosnells about safer school parking. Please read this information as well.

We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

Congratulations

On behalf of the entire St Emilie's community, a huge congratulations to Mrs Nicole Chamberlain (Moriarty) who was married during the January holidays. Wishing both Nicole and Anthony all the best for a long and happy life together.

P & F Volunteers

The P&F received an overwhelming response from families expressing their interest to help with school events. It certainly highlights the incredible community spirit we are blessed to have here at St. Emilie’s. A very heartfelt thank you. With any event, there are limited spaces for helpers. Please know though, that we appreciate your willingness and interest to help, the gift of your time, your support and contributions.

Volunteers are a valued part of the heart of our school community. Thank you once again for your expressions of interest.

P & F Fundraising

What are we fundraising for?

This year we are busily saving for the new Year 3-6 playground equipment.

In addition, P&F funds this year will be used to offset some of the cost of:

  • Mathletics
  • Reading Eggs and Reading Eggspress
  • Literacy Pro
  • Sport Equipment
  • Digital Tech Resources
  • Library books
