Institute for the Future
On Wednesday the Chartwell robotics team visited the Institute for the Future in Palo Alto. We visited their Emerging Media Lab, a space to explore innovative ways that everyone can use virtual, augmented and mixed reality. The team enjoyed a private tour and tried all sorts of interactive games, exhibits, and experiences! It wasn't just the kids who enjoyed the trip! :)
Decoding Wars
In Mrs. Kanaski's class, teams compete by completing jumping jacks, push-ups, burpees, and other active feats before they race to the board and code words. Points are awarded!
Grandparents' Day Projects
The theme this year is from the movie, Up. “The message of Up is that happiness lies in the little moments you share with the people who matter most, like having a donut fight with your sister or teaching your grandpa how to breakdance. Adventure isn’t just out there, it’s in your own backyard. All you have to do is grab a couple of pals and go explore it.”
Mrs. Kirshner’s art classes created Up balloons that are presently displayed in Mc Mahan Hall.
Each class completed a writing piece that was inspired by an adventure that they have taken or would like to take in the future.
