In the 1920's baseball was a very popular sport in America. After the war people wanted to work and play. They where ready to start a new era and live life happy and freely. Sports grew due to the unprecedented publicity and promotion. Business increased in America with the help of sports and the publicity that was put in it. Baseball was the main base of entertainment in the United States. During the process in which baseball became popular baseball players became popular too. One of the top players in that era was the one and only Babe Ruth. Ruth led the New York Yankees to many World Series titles and became an idol to many people. He had an incredible strength to hit home runs and made him self a legend. Ruth wasn't the only legend. There were other guys like Lou Gehrig, Ty Cobb and Joe DiMaggio. They helped make baseball the main attraction for the people. Newspapers, magazines, radio and movies gave that taste to baseball. They made people want to go to stadiums and watch the games along with the help of the radio. The radio helped many fans get information about the games when they couldn't attend the games, it brought the game to life. Newspapers highlighted baseball in new sections they created. It caught the attention of many spectators. The popularity of baseball grew from the 1920's till now. Many fans around the world see it and live it like their number one sport. This is how baseball where introduced in the 1920's.
